Product Empties: All Of My Beauty Favorites

I’m definitely the sort of person who finds a particular product they like, sticks with it, and buys it repeatedly until something new comes along. That’s not to say I don’t like trying new things, but if something is working for me, why not continue using it?

With that being said, I go through bottles and tubes almost weekly, especially when it comes to makeup and beauty products. These are the products that have worked so well for me, I have to stock up on them again and again. Hopefully, you’ll find one or two things that resonate with you as well!

One of my favorite cleansers of all time is this Kale Detox Face Wash by Pacifica. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve mentioned it before, because it’s been one of my favorites for a long time. Delicious-smelling face wash isn’t a must for me, but it’s definitely a benefit- and this face wash smells like a fresh fruit smoothie. I aim to wash my face at least twice a day, so this product certainly dwindles down fast. Hey, Pacifica, can you make me a thirty-two liter bottle of this stuff?

Something I’ve been trying to prioritize more in the past few months is using organic, environmental-friendly products on my face and body. My mom actually introduced me to this vegan deodorant cream by Lumē, and I’ve been loving it ever since. I’ve struggled with natural deodorants in the past, because I feel like most of them aren’t strong enough, but this one actually really works. This deodorant contains lavender and clary sage essential oils, so it smells super sweet, and it’s even safe enough to also use on your lady bits. One bottle of this stuff also has a rather long shelf life- I’ve managed to make this deodorant last about two and a half months!

I’ve bought a lot of foundation in my life, but the only one I’ve ever repurchased is the Becca Cosmetics Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation. I’ve struggled with finding the perfect foundation in the past- they’re usually either too drying, too dark for my skintone, or simply too sheer for my taste. I’ve loved using the Becca foundation for the past few months because it counteracts every problem I could ever have. The foundation is creamy and full coverage, and the brand itself is cruelty-free, which I absolutely must have in my makeup products. In regards to other makeup products, I’ve also had to stock up on more Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. I swear, the uses for this stuff are everlasting, so it’s no wonder I run out of a single bottle after only a month and a half. The only downside to both of these products is that they’re a bit on the pricier side, but it makes sense, considering how advantageous they are.

Admittedly, I used to be one of those people who hardly ever cleaned their makeup brushes. It’s actually kind of amazing, the difference you can see in your makeup application based on how often you clean your brushes. It can also, more than anything, be a health hazard for your eyes if you neglect to clean your beauty brushes, as they can become a breeding ground for bacteria. Something I’ve gone through incredibly fast the past few months is the IT Cosmetics Brush Bath- a spray that effectively and quickly cleans your makeup brushes. I always spritz my brushes with the brush bath before I use them, and after rubbing them with a cloth or towel, they literally look good as new. I also really enjoy the smell of this product- it’s like a citrus-y, fruity, almost lavender-scented product. Cleaning brushes is no longer a chore!

Being a full-time college student, I don’t have many opportunities to immerse myself in the luxury of bubble baths. That being said, when I am home from college, I definitely like to go overboard with as many baths as I can. Look, I know baths don’t actually make you cleaner or more hygenic, but they feel so damn good on the muscles. There are few feelings that compare to submerging yourself in a boiling tub of hot, fragrant water. I tend to go back and forth with using products from Lush and Bath & Body Works, especially the 2018 holiday scents released by the latter. My favorite bubble bath at the moment is Twisted Peppermint; it’s the only bubble bath scent I haven’t gotten tired of yet. I’ve already nearly emptied the bottle, and yet, I’m still considering running back to Bath & Body Works to stock up again. I like my baths to feel luxurious, and Twisted Peppermint definitely delivers that rich, sweet, dessert-like bubbly goodness. Of course, as tempted as you may be, don’t actually eat it. I refuse to allow bubble bath to become the next tide pod fiasco.

I’m planning on ordering some new products from Hush later in the month, so hopefully around springtime, I will have some new items to review. Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products I mentioned today, and if you share a similar love for them!

  1. It’s definitely hard to break out of your holy grail product once you find it! I’ve stuck with a specific eyeliner brand for years and I didn’t think I would ever love an eyeliner as much as I do with this one until l recently when I received a new eyeliner to try and ended up liking it more than my “holy grail!” I’m not somebody who constantly goes out to try and find better things but like you said I’m not opted to try new things if it’s not necessary but is still open to trying new things when opportunities arises.
