Opening my Etsy Shop: Sarah’s Weekly Newsletter

Wednesday, May 20

Hi guys, hope you’re all doing well! I have a few exciting things to update you on, so let me break it down into a few bullet points.

1- I finally bought that wedding dress I had mentioned in last week’s newsletter. No, I’m not engaged, but I probably will be next year and I know this is my dream dress. And since it’s vintage and there’s only one in stock, well, it made sense to me that I should buy it before it’s gone forever, and put it away in my closet until I’m ready for it. I wish I could show you a picture, but I’m pretty sure Nathaniel reads my blog, and having him see the dress before we get married is obviously a big no-no.

2- Secondly, I finally opened my Etsy shop to sell my art! I’m mostly selling my journals, but I also just recently listed a denim jacket I painted. I’ve already had two sales, which is really exciting, so yesterday I took the T to the post office and shipped out the two orders. Afterwards, I took the T back into downtown Boston and met my housemate at city hall, as she had a meeting there for her parking permit. I ended up just driving back with her instead of taking the T, because coronavirus is still going on and I’d like to avoid public transit as much as possible. The reason I decided to open my shop now ties back into bullet point 1; that dress was pretty expensive ($300 with shipping,), and every sale I make on Etsy is going to help me pay back that dress. If you’d like to check out my shop, I’ll link it at the bottom of this article!

So now it’s Wednesday, and I’m currently eating one of the salads I mealprepped on Monday. I’ve essentially been eating the same salad recipe for about three weeks, because I absolutely love fruity salad and I never get tired of it. However, next week I think I’m going to switch it up and try making an autumn salad. My mom is also coming to visit me next week, so I think I’m going to get ingredients to make her a nice dinner as well. I’m planning on posting a mealprep article either next week or the week after that, so if you’re interested in how I eat on $40 a week, be on the lookout for that next week!

Hi friends! It’s the beginning of a new week, and I’m ready to get busy and productive. Today I did my weekly load of laundry and cleaned my bathroom, and I added two listings to my Etsy shop. Now I’m going to play The Sims, because I’ve been on a serious Sims kick lately. I also applied to a few jobs this weekend, so I’m hoping for some good news in that department.

Also, my wedding dress arrived! It’s absolutely beautiful, and it feels like it was made for me. Like I said, I can’t post a picture because I think Nathaniel probably reads this, but I can’t wait for you guys to see it someday. I’ve been a little bit of an existential crisis this past week, particularly since I’m not employed and I don’t know what I should be doing all day, so receiving that dress was such a nice little pick-me-up. I’m going to work on this week’s articles tonight as well, since I’m feeling so upbeat and productive right now. Stay safe, everyone!
